Malaika Floyd was raised in Atlanta Georgia, where she started her dance training at the age of four. By the time she was 14 she was accepted into Atlanta Ballet's pre-professional division where she trained in ballet for 4 years. She then moved to New York where she recieved a BFA in dance with a focus in choreoraphy from SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance. Soon after graduating, Malaika participated in Mattel's "Do the Barbie Music Video" choreographed by Jaquel Knight. She then joined Graham II, and one year later performed in New York and throughout Europe with the world renowned Martha Graham Dance Company. After two years of touring, Malaika began dancing with Radio City in their Christmas Spectacular, as well and the Metropolitan Opera in 2012. She is still currently working for both Radio City and the Met!

 

Malaika has various skills including ballet, modern, tap, jazz, gymnastics, latin ballroom, hip-hop, aerial lyra (hoop), acting, and fitness modeling. She is also a certified personal trainer, pilates instructor, and barre intructor. Malaika also hopes to become certified in Yoga in the near future!!!
